Hachidai Jinja (Hachidai shrine) in North Kyoto
On the way to Ichijoji Sagarimatsu to fight with Yoshioka (one of the most famous fights Musashi fought), Musashi passed through this shrine and was about to pray for victory when he came to realization that while a true warrior should respect God and Buddha, they should not look outside oneself or to a higher power for victory. He stopped praying and went to the fighting place.

You can see two kamon (family crest) - Musashi's kamon on the left and Yoshioka's on the right.
Ganryu-jima, Shimonoseki, Kyushu
Another famous duel Musashi fought was with Sasaki Kojiro. It took place on a tiny island in the Straits of Shimonseki called Ganryu-jima
